Overview of Our Work
Good Samaritans focuses on practical, faith-rooted programs that meet immediate needs while building long-term hope. Our work centers in Mbarara, Uganda, with leadership and support networks in Canada and the USA.
Children’s Care & Shelter
We provide:
● A stable, family-like environment for orphaned and vulnerable children.
● Accommodation and supervision through trusted caregivers and Christian families.
● A vision to establish a dedicated children’s home that will serve as a permanent, purpose-built environment for our kids.
Planned Children’s Home Features:
● Separate dormitories for boys and girls to ensure comfort, privacy, and safety.
● A well-equipped kitchen where daily, nutritious meals are prepared.
● A multipurpose hall for learning, counseling, worship, and community gatherings.
● An environmentally friendly solar energy system to allow for self-sufficient energy use.
● A community farm to provide fresh food and teach valuable agricultural skills.
Education Support
We believe education is key to breaking cycles of poverty and vulnerability. We:
● Pay school fees for children under our care.
● Provide uniforms, books, and school supplies.
● Encourage academic excellence, discipline, and Christian character.
Most of the children we support are currently at primary school level, and we aim to
continue supporting them through higher levels of education as resources allow.
Food, Clothing & Healthcare
Many of the children we serve come from situations where even the basics are uncertain.
We seek to ensure that:
● Every child receives regular, nutritious meals.
● Children have clean clothing and basic necessities.
● Children have access to healthcare, including medical checkups and treatments as needed.
In a country where government assistance is often not available to refugees, our support is a lifeline.
Spiritual Care & Discipleship
As a Christian organization, we integrate faith into all aspects of our work by:
● Teaching the word of God and nurturing a personal relationship with Jesus.
● Building each child’s Christian identity, dignity, and sense of purpose.
● Involving local churches in prayer, worship, and mentorship.
We believe that true transformation is both physical and spiritual.
Community Training & Poverty Reduction
To address the root causes of poverty and vulnerability, we also:
● Conduct training workshops and seminars for local families.
● Equip parents, guardians, and young adults with skills to improve their
livelihoods.
● Encourage community cooperation, stewardship, and mutual support
